US Video API ("we", "us", "our") is a service operated from Houston, Texas. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our API service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address and an encrypted password. You may optionally provide a company name.

Usage Data: We log API requests including timestamps, endpoints called, resolution and duration parameters, job status, and associated costs. We do not log prompt content after job completion.

Payment Information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or full card details on our servers. We retain only Stripe customer IDs and transaction amounts for billing records.

Generated Content: Videos you generate are stored temporarily (up to 72 hours) for download, then automatically deleted unless you request earlier deletion.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Process and fulfill your API requests
• Manage your account and billing
• Prevent abuse and enforce rate limits
• Improve service reliability and performance
• Communicate service updates or issues (email, infrequently)

3. Upstream Processing

Video generation is performed by BytePlus ModelArk (operated by ByteDance). Your text prompts and/or uploaded images are sent to BytePlus servers for processing. BytePlus processes this data under their own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing BytePlus's privacy policy for details on their data handling.

We do not share your email, company name, account details, or billing information with BytePlus. Only the minimum data required for video generation (prompt, images) is transmitted.

4. Data Storage & Security

• All data is stored on US-based servers
• Passwords are hashed with bcrypt
• API keys are stored as SHA-256 hashes (we cannot recover your key)
• All API traffic is encrypted via TLS/HTTPS
• We perform regular security reviews

5. Data Retention

• Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure.
• Generated videos: Auto-deleted 72 hours after generation.
• Usage logs: Retained for 12 months for billing and abuse prevention, then anonymized.
• Payment records: Retained as required by tax law (typically 7 years).

6. Your Rights

You may at any time:

• Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Revoke API keys

7. Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies for session management only. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics scripts.

8. Third-Party Services

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
